  5.         This is a shareware genealogical database system.  Supports
  6. multiple databases of up to 65,535 persons each.  Supports Gedcom.
  7. Prints Ahnentafel Charts, Pedigree Charts (4,5,6, & 7 gen), Family Charts,
  8. and Family Group Sheets.  Makes Tiny Tafels.  Has help screens.  Easy to
  9. use and has lots of other great features!

  14. The Shareware Concept

  16.         Shareware basically means "Try before you buy."  If you try a
  17. Shareware program and continue using it, you must compensate the author
  18. by registering it.

  22. authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both cases,

  43.         This program was originally distributed on BBS's as two compressed
  44. files.  The file extension may vary due to the many different file
  45. compression programs that are in use.

  111.         The manual is contained in FAMILY.DOC.  Other documentation is
  112. contained within the *.HLP files which may be viewed and printed from within
  113. the program.  They are found in the "Helpful Info" menu.  A printed manual
  114. will be sent to you when you register.

  117. Reccomended Hardware
  118.  
  119.         1. 640 kilobytes of base ram (will use EMS if available)
  120.         2. hard drive, needs 400k of free space after installation for
  121.            creating temporary files in.
  122.         3. color monitor
  123.         4. A IBM, Epson, or HP compatible printer
  124.         5. DOS version 3.0 or higher

  127. Installation Instructions
  128.  
  129.         You need about 1.5MB of free disk space.  The program will need
  130.         more disk space as you add data.
  131.  
  132.         Uncompress all files onto floppy disks or a temporary subdir and
  133.         run the INSTALL program on disk #1. INSTALL will do the following:
  134.  
  135.                 1. Make a subdirectory on your hard disk
  136.                 2. Install the files into it.
  137.                 3. If you are upgrading from a version previous to 1.10,
  138.                    it will convert your old data to the new format.  Make
  139.                    sure you know what your old version is before starting.
  140.  
  141.         MAKE A BACKUP before you begin!  ...Just in case!

  143.         Example:        1. Put disk #1 in drive A:
  144.                         2. Type A: and then press ENTER
  145.                         3. Type INSTALL and then press ENTER
  146.                         4. Follow the instructions...

  148.         To start the program, run the file:  FAMILY.EXE
